Mychron 5, 5S and 6 (AiM), and the Unipro UNIGO ONE. DAD talks to each one natively over your WiFi network — Mychron over the AiM protocol, UNIGO over HTTP. If you run a mixed grid, DAD handles both at the same time from the same laptop.

A Windows laptop and a WiFi network that both the laptop and the dashes are connected to — the paddock router, your own travel router, or a phone hotspot all work. DAD is a single .exe: download it, run it, no Python or extra software to install. Point your dashes at the same network once and you're done.

DAD scans your network and finds every dash on it, then watches for new sessions. The moment a driver comes in and the dash is idle, DAD pulls the new sessions automatically and files them into folders by championship, track, session and driver. You leave it running on the pit lane laptop and the data is simply there when you sit down to debrief.

No. You can add dashes by name and IP if you want them to appear instantly, but it's optional — hit "Skip for now" and DAD scans the whole network and finds them on its own. Mychron dashes are tracked by their hardware address, so if your router hands out a different IP after a reboot, DAD reconnects without you changing anything.

Yes — that's the point. DAD decompresses each Mychron session to a .xrk file, so you open it straight in Race Studio 3 with no Import step. Files land in a clean, consistently named folder tree instead of a download dump.

Neither. DAD sits alongside Race Studio — it only reads sessions off the dash, and downloading never removes anything. Your sessions stay on the dash until you clear them yourself. One tip: a dash only accepts one connection at a time, so avoid having Race Studio pulling from the same dash while DAD is downloading from it.

DAD downloads from many dashes in parallel — one session at a time per dash, the same way Race Studio does it, so no dash gets overloaded. In practice a full grid downloads while you're still walking back to the awning. Your plan sets how many dashes you can use: 5, 10, 20 or 50.

Not for downloading. Everything between the laptop and the dashes happens on your local network, so a paddock with no signal is fine. DAD does check your license when it can reach the internet, and it keeps working offline for a couple of days — enough to cover a race weekend — so just connect once before you travel.

Every plan starts with a free trial and you're not charged until it ends — cancel during the trial and you owe nothing. After that it renews automatically through Stripe until you cancel. Cancelling stops future charges and your license stays active through the period you've already paid for. Every file you've downloaded is yours to keep, always.

Your plan includes a set number of activated laptops (1 to 5 depending on the tier). You activate with the key we email you after checkout, and you can release a laptop from within the app if you need to move your license to a different machine.

Transfer speed is set by the dash's own WiFi hardware, not by DAD — roughly 200 to 400 KB/s per dash, which is normal for these devices. Because DAD works several dashes at once and runs while you're doing other things, the wait you actually notice is far shorter than downloading them one by one.
