Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how BestLap (“the App”, “we”, “our”) handles information when you use the App. BestLap is published by Overcut Academy (“we”, “us”). For App Store distribution purposes, the app is currently registered under the personal Apple Developer account of Lucas Nogueira, our founder, while we transition to an Organization Apple Developer account. 1. Summary
BestLap is an offline-first stopwatch and lap-timing app for karting. We do not collect, transmit, or sell any personal data. All session data — drivers, kart numbers, lap times, and splits — is stored locally on your device in a private SQLite database and never leaves your device unless you explicitly export and share it.
2. Information stored on your device
BestLap stores the following data locally on your device only:
- Session metadata you create (track name, championship, session name, date, notes).
- Driver names, kart numbers, and color labels you enter.
- Lap times, split times, and best-lap markers captured during use.
- App preferences (theme, font size, alarm settings, your “favorite” driver index).
- A flag indicating whether your Pro subscription is active (synced from Apple’s StoreKit / RevenueCat).
This information lives in your device’s local storage. It is not uploaded to any server we operate. Uninstalling the App removes it.
3. Information we do NOT collect
BestLap does not collect:
- Your name, email address, phone number, or other contact information.
- Your location.
- Your device’s contacts, photos, microphone, or camera.
- Analytics, crash reports, or device identifiers.
- Any usage telemetry of any kind.
We have no servers, no backend, and no account system.
4. Subscriptions and in-app purchases
BestLap Pro is sold as an auto-renewable subscription through Apple’s App Store. We use Apple’s StoreKit and a third-party subscription-management service (RevenueCat, https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy) to verify your subscription status.
When you start a free trial or subscription:
- Apple processes the transaction. We never see or store your payment details.
- RevenueCat receives an anonymous pseudo-identifier (generated by the RevenueCat SDK) plus the App Store receipt to confirm your entitlement. RevenueCat does not receive your name, email, or contact info from us.
- We use this only to determine whether your “Pro” entitlement is active.
You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in iOS Settings → [your Apple ID] → Subscriptions.
5. Data you choose to export
The App lets you export session data to PDF or CSV via the iOS share sheet. The destination of an exported file (email, AirDrop, cloud storage, etc.) is your choice and is governed by the privacy policy of whichever service you send it to. We have no visibility into where exports go.
6. Children
BestLap is rated 4+ and contains no advertising, no chat features, and no data collection. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13.
7. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top and post the new version at the same URL. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance.
